Transport for Greater Manchester is working with Kier Construction to build a brand new bus and rail interchange, which will also include a Cycle Hub.
This will make it easier for local people to use public transport by bringing bus, cycle and rail services closer together.
The new build Bus and Rail Interchange is located in Bolton, between the Preston and Blackburn railway lines.
ACS were contracted to provide access roads and walkways underneath a pre-constructed undercroft, adjacent to a live railway line.
The works also involved drainage and duct installation to the new Interchange, including sewer connections to the existing infrastructure with an Acoustic Boundary Wall formed part of the works.
Furthermore, 2,600m2 of external hard landscaping was installed using a high quality sandblasted natural stone paving.
The works were undertaken in a site with extremely limited access, working around several other trade contractors which could only be achieved by continually coordinating our works to achieve the key dates required by the client.
