Middlewood Locks, Phase 1 – BCEGI

This colossal residential and commercial develpopment is the first phase of a five year programme. ACS have delivered the first phase on time in 20 weeks and have achieved this by effective collaborative working with the client during the procurement stage of the development.

The scope included the complete infrastructure package including excavation, groundwork’s and concreting of steel reinforced foundations and lift and staircase bases together with the reinforced concrete slabs. The total slabs floor area being 5200m2 incorporated nearly 700 tonnes of steel reinforcement and 5000m3 of concrete. As the project is a redevelopment site, the new drainage scheme is connected into existing main sewers up to 6 metres deep; some of which are constructed in brickwork.

The extensive new drainage design incorporates an attenuation tank with a designed volume of 170m3 and two heavy duty petrol interceptors each having a 6000 litre capacity.
